Welcome to Savanna! Savanna began as Sunset Cork Room, a local’s hidden gem. Originally owned by Nina Martin, Sunset Cork Room was the place to be for Fine Diners and Wine Lovers. However, it wasn’t until John Davis & Tina Goodwin-Allen joined the team that Sunset Cork Room truly began to flourish. Through their dedication and culinary mastery, Sunset Cork Room stole the hearts of locals and travelers alike, becoming a Traveler’s Choice Restaurant.

When Nina retired in 2023, she gifted the business to John. Though the building was sold, the spirit of Sunset Cork Room lives on! After months of searching for a new location, we finally found our perfect fit! Now located at the Gulf Coast Zoo, John saw fit to rename the restaurant. Savanna was a clear choice, not only because of its proximity to wildlife, but also as an ode to one of the oldest southern cities. Moreover, Chef John chose Savanna, the feminine spelling, because he wished to honor the many strong women in his life.
